Venetian cuisine
Venetian cuisine has many flavours and ingredients, whose common ground lies between water, earth and sky. These are indeed the elements where the raw materials of its culinary specialties come from: fishes and shellfishes from the seas and rivers; vegetables, maize and meat from the earth; game from the sky. The Serenissima Republic largely contributed spreading across the other Italian regions the food customs and the traditions of the countries Venice had business relationships with. For example, spices turned Venetian cuisine into a more tasty and refined cuisine.
